We're open when your family veterinarian's office is
closed...nights, weekends and holidays.
Few aspects of pet ownership are scarier than when an animal has
taken ill in the middle of the night or during weekend hours when
your family veterinarian's office is closed.
PETS Emergency (PETS) exists to care for your pet under
just these circumstances, and we're no further away than your
phone. A medical diagnosis takes more than a phone call, but that's
where it usually starts, as a well-trained and caring staff member
answers your questions and directs you on how best to cope with
your pet's problem. At PETS, we see a variety of medical and
surgical conditions affecting dogs and cats.
When you arrive at PETS, the first person you will meet in the
examination room is one of our veterinary technicians. It is their
intial job to collect a history of your pet's health and current
symptons to report back to the doctor. The critcal care doctor on
duty will then perform a thorough examination on your pet. A
thorough exam means checking eyes, ears, mouth, throat, lymph
nodes, abdomen, temperature, heart rate, and possible pressure
points for pain. Upon completion of the exam the doctor will
discuss with you the best course to follow for diagnoses and
treatment of your pet's illness or injuries.
Please remember that cases are seen on the basis of need, with the
most severely affected patients being seen first.
Your family veterinarian, by referring you to us, is demonstrating
their trust in our ability to properly treat your pet. PETS is
fully equipped to handle virtually any circumstance that may arise.
Much of our equipment and many of our treatment regimens are
identical to those found in human hospitals. Our superb
in-house laboratory can often provide fast and life saving
diagnoses, enabling us to aggressively and effectively treat your
pet. In order to anticipate and preempt problems instead of
reacting to them, PETS has an extensive monitoring network,
and outstanding professional and support personnel.
As you leave, a copy of your pet's record will be faxed to your
family veterinarian and the attending doctor will remain availiable
to them even after your pet's stay with us in completed, in the
event that your family veterinarian has further questions. Our
staff doctors maintain a close working relationship with your
family veterinarian.
At PETS Emergency we care about that one special pet -
yours! We understand that it takes much more than just medical
skill to fully care for animals that are members of your family. It
takes compassion and dedication as well as excellent medicine to
give your pets the care they deserve.
