Things to know :

-Physical examinations are preformed prior to surgery.

-All surgeries are preformed by our highly-trained Emergency Veterinarians in our state-of-the-art surgical suite.

-We offer early drop-off and late pick-up for working parents available upon request.

-The minimum age for a spay or neuter is 14 weeks.

-If your pet is over 5 years of age we strongly suggest pre-surgical blood work.

-Because services are provided at a minimum cost, certain precautionary measures such as pre-anesthetic blood work, IV catheter and fluids will not be included but are available, at additional cost, upon request.

-Like any surgical procedure, there are certain anesthetic and surgical risks associated with spaying and neutering your pet, however, the overall incidence of complications is very low, and your pet will be in the hands of our highly trained emergency staff.

Why spay or neuter your pet?

 -Prevents unwanted litters.

-May eliminate many behavioral problems associated with the mating instinct such as roaming, aggression, and marking of territories.

-In female pets, spaying prevents heat cycles.

-Spaying has also been shown to reduce the chance of breast cancer and eliminates the possibility of developing life-threatening uterine infections.

-Contrary to popular belief, spaying or neutering will not make your pet fat. Feeding your pet the correct amount of a balanced diet and providing regular exercise will help keep your pet at a healthy weight and prevent obesity related health problems.
